Winter Activities

Winter activities in Crested Butte include skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, nordic-skiing, fat-biking, ice fishing, attending festivals, concerts, exploring Elk Avenue, etc. If you would like any suggestions on winter activities please email Jordon before your trip. We will also have a detailed winter activity guide at the house with phone numbers/websites for our favorite trips, local spots, tour companies, and rental companies around town.

Ski and Snowboard Rental Recommendations:

Black Tie Ski Rental - (970) 349-0722 - 719 4th St - They will come to the house and outfit you for your skis and boots in our heated garage so you don’t have to stand in long lines. This is where I recommend friends/family/guests to rent their ski gear.

CB Rental & Demo Center - (970) 349-2278 - Treasury Center at the Base Area

Christy Sports - (970) 349-6601 - 620 Gothic Rd #150

Flatiron Sports - (970) 349-6656 - 10 Crested Butte Way

Other Winter Recommendations:

Action Adventures Snowmobile Tours - Half Day snowmobile tours are a fantastic time! (970) 349-5909 - 32 Crested Mountain Ln

Cross-Country Ski Rentals at The Nordic Center - Winter sports facility offering cross-country skiing terrain, lessons & rentals & an ice rink. (970) 349-1707 - 620 2nd St

Snow Shoes - We have 5 pair of snowshoes in the garage that we allow guests to use free of charge.  Walking the ridgeline in the direction away from the two-car garage gives you the best views while snowshoeing.

Sledding - This is a must with kids. Highly recommend going to Pyramid Hill which is located downtown on Pyramid Ave.

Other Ideas - Ice Fishing, Fatbikes, , Ice Skating, CB Adventure Park - zipline, rock climbing, etc.
