The Arts

Crested Butte Center for the Arts - Check out the events at the Center for the Arts during your stay; the architecture alone is stunning, and I highly recommend their concerts and performances. If you’re here on a summer Monday, the free outdoor concerts are a family must. Grab the camping chairs from the garage and head over! 606 6th St

Art Galleries - Explore the many art galleries on and around Elk Avenue downtown; Crested Butte is home to some amazing talent. In fact, several pieces in our home were commissioned from these local artists.

Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum - Stop by this downtown museum to learn about the town’s fascinating local history—it’s a great visit if you’ve never been. 331 Elk Ave

Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center - Check out our towns Visitor Center for seasonal activities, events and festivals happening in town during your stay.  This building has the 2nd largest Elk ever shot called the “John Plute Elk” which was shot in 1899 and held the world record for over 115 years. It recently sold at auction for $121,000 and the gentleman who purchased the elk decided to leave it at the visitors center - 7 points on one side and 8 on the other, with a gross score of 459 7/8″ and a net score of 442 3/8″ after deductions. The building that the visitors center is located in was also the original train stop in Crested Butte during the old railroad and coal mining days. 601 Elk Ave

Walk all around town - there are some really cool statues and art pieces around town and at people’s homes.
